Real Project / Toronto, Ontario

From Our Shop Floor to BMO Field

Railing frames and perforated infill panels that left PPC strapped on pallets now line the suites and seating guards at one of Canada's best-known stadiums.

Finished, Separated and Strapped for the Trip

The work started as long fabricated assemblies: tubular top rails and posts welded to frames carrying perforated metal infill panels. Some sections run several metres; others include returns and open tube ends for connection on site.

Once finished, the team stacked each frame on timber pallets with foam wraps at every contact point, so no rail rests directly on another panel face. Loads were then band-strapped for transport, keeping the finish intact through handling, loading and delivery.

Installed Along the Suites and Seating Guards

On site, the same panels now divide suite-level seating rows and form the guard rails at the front of each box. Repeated section after section, they read as one continuous finish running the length of the stand.

The perforated infill keeps sightlines open to the pitch while providing a solid barrier, and the matching tubular rails tie dividers, front guards and posts into a single, consistent detail.

What a Stadium Railing Job Asks of the Finisher

One finish, hundreds of metres

Railings run continuously along suites and seating bowls, where any shift in colour or gloss between sections is visible from across the stadium. Consistency from lot to lot matters as much as the first part.

Perforated infill

Perforated sheet has thousands of hole edges and a large surface area. Even film build across the panel face, edges and frame welds is what keeps the infill looking uniform up close.

Long, awkward geometry

Tubular rails, open-ended returns, corner transitions and welded tabs make hanging, coverage and handling decisions important before the parts reach the line.

Protected from line to install

Finished assemblies were stacked with foam separators and strapped to pallets so frames and panel faces travel without contact damage between the facility and site.
