Start with the part
A reliable quote begins with a clear description of the component and its condition when it will arrive. A drawing is ideal, but labelled photographs and a dimensional sketch can be enough for an initial review.
- Base material and material grade, when known
- Overall length, width, height and approximate weight
- Current surface condition, including rust, scale, oil or an existing finish
- Areas that must be masked, plugged or kept free of coating
- Drawings, photographs and any available specification documents
Define the finish and performance requirement
Colour alone does not define a coating system. Tell the coater where the finished part will be used and what it must withstand. That information guides the selection of pretreatment, powder chemistry, film build and testing.
- Colour reference, such as RAL, Pantone, a physical sample or an approved manufacturer code
- Gloss, texture and acceptable appearance range
- Indoor or outdoor exposure and expected service environment
- Required coating standard, test method or customer specification
- Critical corrosion, chemical, impact, dielectric or UV performance requirements
Include production and logistics details
Quantity, packaging and timing affect line selection, racking, handling and freight. Provide both the immediate order quantity and the expected repeat volume when the program is ongoing.

- Requested completion date and any staged-delivery needs
- Pickup, delivery or freight requirements
- Packaging, identification and documentation requirements
- A contact for technical questions and approval decisions
